A long commute takes residents into the Minneapolis St. Paul metro area, but the relaxed rural small town rural atmosphere is appealing to many who seek an escape from urban stresses.

Jake Miller – Jake grew up in Rosemount, Minnesota and started his career in real estate in the mortgage business in 2003. Shortly after starting in the mortgage business, he decided to broaden his knowledge and get his real estate license in 2004. His background in mortgage has been helpful for all of his clients. The South Metro (south of the river) is where Jake would call himself an expert in the real estate market. Although he calls himself an expert in the south metro, Jake will also work throughout the Twin Cities like he has for the last 10 years. An older downtown district is being redeveloped and typical suburban retail centers provide residents with ample access to shopping. A highly ranked public school system, along with parochial schools and the Dakota County Vocational Technical College handle the city’s educational needs. A full range of parks, trails, and recreational facilities is the city’s pride and joy. Small lakes and ponds abound in the area. Residents who commute to jobs outside of the city drive several miles on four-lane Country Road 42, which connects to I-35 and Highway 52. The city’s primary retail shopping district also lies on the County Road 42 corridor, and Apple Valley is just west of the city.

The housing boom means that the home inventory in Rosemount is mainly of more recent construction, and in developments with meandering streets and cul-de-sacs. According to the latest listings by Northstar MN MLS, in the under $100,000 price range, houses are limited to condominiums and townhouses. In the $100-200,000 price range, multiple listings are primarily townhouses. Modest, older single-family homes begin to appear at about $160,000. From $200-300,000, single-family homes become more spacious and are of more recent construction, with spacious, immaculate homes in attractive neighborhoods at the top of the price range. Large recently constructed homes with superior appointments are the feature of the over $300,000 price range. Above $400,000, expansive executive homes with luxury features are available. This housing market generally peaks at about $700,000. Vacant land, suitable for development is also available.
